Recording of working time – obligatory for every company?

According to a ruling of the European Court of Justice (ECJ), employers within the EU must record and document the working hours of their employees. The German Federal Labour Court (BAG) has confirmed this obligation in a landmark ruling. Until now, companies in Germany have not been obliged to document the exact working hours of their employees. Exceptions are, for example, marginally employed workers or sectors such as catering and construction. In addition, overtime must be documented. There are still no precise specifications on how hours worked are to be recorded by law in the future.

One thing is certain: electronic systems for time and attendance facilitate the workflow! primion supports employers in complying with current and future regulations regarding working time recording and the like!
