Good to know: Do companies have to record working hours?

According to the ruling of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) and the decision of the German Federal Labour Court (BAG), employers in Germany are obliged to systematically record and document the working hours of their employees, including break times and overtime.

Recording working hours by law

This obligation applies to all companies, regardless of sector or company size. Even though there are currently no detailed legal requirements regarding the exact method of time recording, it is clear that the recording of working hours must be transparent and reliable. Electronic time recording systems offer an efficient solution to meet these requirements and minimise the administrative burden.

We support you as an employer in complying with current and future regulations on working time recording and optimising the workflow.
